Bananas Foster Milkshake Recipe

Bananas Foster Milkshake recipe, if you love your flambe bananas foster desert you are going to love the same version but in a thick and rich milkshake! Flames and all!
Hola Amigos! You all know how much I am in love with chocolate, but I think I've just found the second best thing in life (well at least for this week). Bananas Foster!!! Oh goodness...that is the most decadent dessert not involved with chocolate in the planet...just think about it...buttery, fruity sweet, cinnamony spiced and spiked??? Oh Mama!!! lol...Well you know me...it had to be taken to the next level on  a milkshake!
This was fun to make but even tastier to drink! It has all the components of the bananas foster you love! Even the flaming part believe it or not! Banana Rum, Brown Sugar, Tumeric among other goodies!
I love mine topped with a few banana chips and sprinkle some extra sugar on top, and let's not forget cinnamon sugar in the rim of your cup just to give it that extra sparkle!

Bananas Foster Milkshake recipe, this is a thick rich milkshake with all the components of your favorite desert, flames and all! If you like your dessert you are going to love this milkshake!
Too good to have just one I tell you guys, but we better because it's rich, like your triple thick 'restaurant" milkshake, only way better!
Thank You so much for your visit today, before I forget you can make this kid friendly by skipping the ingredient that makes the bananas "flame"! It will still be delicious! Remember everything tastes better with your imagination and a Pinch of Love!
Besitos,
Lizy

Bananas Foster Milkshake
Ingredients
2 Ripe Bananas
4 Tablespoons of Butter
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 shot Banana Rum or any Rum you have
1 TBSP Lemon Juice
Pinch of Cinnamon
Pinch of Tumeric
1/2 Milk
1 Pint Vanilla Ice Cream
1 tsps Vanilla Butter
Cinnamon Sugar for garnish
Banana Chips for garnish
Directions
In a large skillet melt butter and sugar in low-medium heat to avoid burning, stir.
Add the bananas ( I prefer to add them  cut). Cook them for about 4 minutes.
Very carefully add the rum and with a long match or lighter flambe your banana mix. ***Very important, make sure the vents of the stove are off while you do this, since the flames might shoot.
Let the flame die down.
Add lemon juice, cinnamon and tumeric, cook for another 2-4 minutes.
Let it cool at room temperature and add to your blender with the milk and ice cream. Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Prep Time: 8 minutes     Cook Time: 8 Minutes     Serves 4 (4oz) Glasses

Root Beer Float Cupcakes ♥ Dedicated to Grandmas Everywhere.

One of my favorite memories from my childhood was with my grandparents.
I'd ride four hours in the backseat of my parents' minivan to visit my grandparents' lake house in Northern Wisconsin for a weekend.  Four hours of travel time is a long time for an 8 year old girl, especially sitting next to my naughty teasing brother in the backseat.

But you know what made those four hours worth it?
My grandma, cheering me on when I arrived.
Hugging me, telling me how pretty I was becoming.
And after a long ride, she'd serve my brother and I a Root Beer Float in a tall glass.

Over 20 years later..
I made Root Beer Float Cupcakes:
Of course I used real A&W Root Beer in the batter.
I swirled the buttercream frosting on so it looked like the foam that "floats" on top of a Root Beer Float. (This frosting look achieved with a piping bag and a 1A Round Tip!)

Last week my friend Hillary who volunteers at New Curative (an assisted living Home in Green Bay) asked me to teach a cupcake class to her friends there. ♥  I could make any cupcakes I wanted with the residents!  So I thought of my grandma's Root Beer Floats right away.
The experience teaching the ladies (who are also all grandmas) to turn Root Beer Floats into cupcakes sent me on a trip down memory lane.

My grandma should have been one of those fairy godmothers in a fairy tale book.  Her favorite thing to do was to feed me.  She had never ending buckets of ice cream in her freezer. It was like she could wave a magic wand and anything I wanted to snack on would be there.  I watched her scoop the ice cream into a tall glass, and as she poured the Root Beer over the top of the ice cream, the whole inside of the glass popped, bubbled, and fizzed.♥ My little hands wrapped around the thick glass.  The Root Beer Float was mine now, and I didn't mind my fizzy bubble mustache at all.

I showed all of the grandmas how to scoop the buttercream frosting so it looked just like ice cream on top of a root beer float!  (Inspired by my grandma)  Yes, all of that is frosting.  Nostalgia + Lots of Frosting=LOVE

I even came equipped with a delivery of Chef Hats made by my friend "Grandma Lala" (another fabulous grandma).

And we each wrote our name in chocolate on top of our Root Beer Float Cupcakes:
I think that this may have made my grandma proud. (She's in Heaven cheering for me on her own cloud of frosting I am sure, but I'd like to think she visits me once in awhile and approves that I've taken on her role of feeding people now).

Now it's my house that is filled with endless buckets of frosting and edible glitter.   Just writing this blog makes me realize that perhaps some of my experiences with my grandma is where my love for magical baking began!

And what you are seeing in front of my tiffany blue glitter wall at my Cupcake Mansion are Root Beer Float Cake Pops ♥  Recipe for both the cupcakes and cake pops....are below!

Recipe for Root Beer Float Cupcake Nostalgia:
Makes 12 Cupcakes.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup A&W Root Beer
  • 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 3/4 Cup Fine Baking Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Canola Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 teaspoon Root Beer Concentrate (this may make the colors of your cupcakes light or dark depending on the brand used).
  • 1 1/3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt

Method:
1.  Preheat Oven to 325 and line your cupcake pan with 12 paper liners.
2.  In stand mixer bowl, combine root beer & apple cider vinegar.  Let this stand and "fizz" for a few minutes.
3.  After your mixture has "fizzed" for a little while, whisk sugar and oil in until mixture is frothy like a real root beer float.
4.  Whisk in vanilla extract & root beer concentrate until combined.
5.  In a medium bowl on the side, mix your dry ingredients together:  Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Ground Ginger, and Salt.
6.  Whisk dry ingredients into your stand mixer mixture until creamy. Scrape down bowl to make sure all ingredients are mixed together evenly.
7.  Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full and bake at 325 for 15-25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center of cupcakes comes out clean.

The Frosting ♥
13 oz Marshmallow Cream
1 Lb of Unsalted Butter
5 Tablespoons Dry White Cake Mix (this gives your frosting a vanilla flavor that combines well with the root beer flavor!)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
6-8 Cups of Powdered Sugar

Optional: 2-3 Tablespoons of Heavy Whipping Cream
For decorating: Paper Straws, Americolor Food Gel (if you want to color your frosting, Ice Cream Scoop, or 1A Round Decorating Tip)
1.  Using the paddle attachment, whip Marshmallow Cream and Butter together (both at room temperature) in a stand mixer.
2.  Next add White Cake Mix and Vanilla Extract.
3.  Gradually add Powdered Sugar until frosting is the thickness desired. (Less Powdered Sugar=light and dreamy fluffy frosting, good for swirling.  More Powdered Sugar=thick stiff frosting good for scooping to look like ice cream)

Tip:   If you add too much powdered sugar and want a fluffy, lighter frosting.you  use the heavy whipping cream in your frosting recipe.

If you want to make root beer float cake pops: Crumble up your cupcakes in a medium bowl, mix with 2 Tablespoons of Frosting until consistency is like play-dough, and roll into 1 1/2" cake balls.  Refrigerate cake balls on a parchment paper lined baking pan until cake pops are firm enough to dip into white chocolate.

Oreo & Cookie Dough Brownies Recipe

Oreo & Cookie Dough Brownies Recipe, these brownies will have you come back for more, Oreo Cookies, Cocoa Butter Spread, White Chocolate M&M's, to name a few of the tasty ingredients.
Hola Amigos! A few days ago looking for tips on how to bake the best brownies and  I found  a lot of good recipes but one site talked about the criteria of a good brownie,  taste, level of difficulty and creativity. I agree, I like my brownies tasty, easy to bake and with a twist. That's how I came up with this recipe, which is nothing but a combination of all the good things I like in a brownie, in just one batch.
I like Original brownies...nothing but chocolate and more chocolate! Heated up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream..yum! My element of creativity, a layer of Trader Joe's Cocoa Almond Spread! I love that stuff...do I dare say, more than Nutella?..please don't hate me now, lol

My hubs likes his frozen, this is his batch, topped with a white chocolate pudding glaze (lots of it) to go along with the white chocolate M&M's in every bite of the brownie!

The kids like their with the works, and I mean "the works" mini oreos, melted chocolate and caramel and more M&M goodness! Pass the milk!

Oreo & Cookie Dough Brownies Recipe, what is not to love about a brownie with cookie dough, cocoa butter spread and white chocolate M&M's to name a few of it's ingredients! Delicious!

Let's see if this works.........

Every week I get questions from all my kind/sweet/funny/adventurous/super cool readers via comments/emails/instagram/facebook and as many of you have learned I have the HARDEST time getting back to you. I just can't sit on my computer all day answering questions......call me crazy.

Recycled DIY Tide Pods Fish Lamp

DIY Tide Pods Fish Lamp, don't throw your container away just yet, transform it into a whimsical lamp for just a few bucks and your imagination. Great Kids Project with a bit of mom's help!
Hola Amigos! A container of Tide Pods has been staring at me for a while now. I just hate throwing away something that it could be repurposed into a useful object...well at least in my head that is, lol. It finally hit me one night after reading again, one of my little one's favorite book The Rainbow Fish! At that moment I was a mad woman trying to put things together before the inspiration left me again..one problem...very few if not any pictures of the process of creating my master piece...but it's so simple you will be able to figure it out at first glance!
DIY Tide Pods Fish Lamp. a clever way to re-purpose that old container and make something whimsical and useful. Great for kids's rooms and a project they can help create with a little of mom's help.

What I used: 1 Tide Pod container, 1 Martha Stewart Circle Punch Cutter, Assorted Craft Paper, 1 medium size Cardboard,  Hot glue Gun sticks (lots of them) , 1 Empty Plastic Water bottle cut in half, felt, 2 glass beads 1 lamp kit from the hardware store 1 Lamp Shade.
How I did it: I cut a couple hundred circles with the circle cutter and glue them to the tide container to create the scales and  body of the fish. For the Tail Fins I drew 2 semi hearts out of  cardboard and then glue more paper circles to it until they were covered. I glued them to a side of the container. To make the fish mouth I used the top part of the water bottle and attached it to the other side of the container opposite to the tail fins. left the lid on because I thought it looked cute. My hubs drilled a hole on the top of the tide container (lid) and  adapted the lamp kit to it after that he opened another on the bottom to let the cable out. Cut 2 pieces of felt of a contrasting color and make 2 circles to represent the eyes 1 for each side of the container. Use to glass beads to create the "watery effect' of the eye.  Your lamp should be working now!

I am happy with the results ..and before I forget the lamp shade was on sale at Target for 60% off , I love it has a wavy pattern, just like the ocean. Basically the total cost of this  lamp was about $12 dollars! not bad huh?
DIY Tide Pods Fish Lamp, for only a few dollars create this whimsical lamp with that empty container! Great kid's project with a little of mom's help.

I think my rainbow fish have some personality don't you think? I mean...for a fish that is!

As nighttime begins to fall, we need to move "Rainbow" to it's permanent location
Recycled DIY Tide Pods Container Lamp, great kids room decor with something you have in your laundry room! Great craft project for kids with a little help from mom

My Little Boy's Room, which by the way is all Ocean and Beach Motif
He is happy and mama is happy to ( I finally got something good out of that container now I finally can move on to those milk jugs waiting to be transformed, lol)
Thank you for your kind visit. Look around for things you do everyday for inspiration in creating beauty and whimsy around you, we all need to smile more often and worry less!
