Every week I get questions from all my kind/sweet/funny/adventurous/super cool readers
via comments/emails/instagram/facebook.........and as many of you have learned I have the HARDEST time getting back to you. I just can't sit on my computer all day answering questions......call me crazy.
For frequently asked questions (camera talk, etc,) check out the FAQ (which most

The Marathon
I finished a marathon. Don't I look different?
(answer: nope)
I still remember running the mile in highschool PE.
I HATED it. I remember telling myself with each painful lap that as soon as my school PE classes were over with, I would never ever ever run again.
And then I gained 12 pounds my freshman year of college.
It's true. (read about it here)
So when I was planning a wedding

my hunger games
I'm running and running and running these days.
Literally.
Lots of miles.
Dirty, beautiful, hard, hilly miles.
So at almost any time of day, I am hungry.
Always. Hungry.
When I'm running I crave carbs (who are we kidding, I crave carbs all the time), and I'm always looking for hearty snacks to fit my cravings and tame my hunger.
a few phone snaps from my saturday run
Over the weekend I made

Pocatello 50 Race Report
(for all you non runners I always include a very condensed version of my race report:)
I ran a 20 mile trail race. On a mountain. In Idaho. It was the best I've ever felt running.
I ate some nachos.
The end
camping at the start (although I slept in a nice soft bed....)
THE RACE
The Pocatello 50.
50 miles
50K
or 20 miles (my choice)
It's not a race.
That's what I kept

Whoops. It happened again, I forgot to blog.
Here is a little peak at what's been going on.....thanks to my iphone for all the photos.
We finished school last week! yaaaaaaaay!!!! Overall homeschool was a wonderful experience--we all enjoyed it and we all learned (me too) more than expected. We liked it so much I'm still trying to decide what to do come fall. That being said, we are

this and that
our little family over the weekend....
so
many
things
happening.
Here is a little of this and that:
The Weekend
My sweet handsome boy was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints over the weekend. (In our church we are baptized by immersion at age 8).
It was such a happy weekend and we had family in from Montana, up and down California,

time
evening run
I stood at my window yesterday in the late afternoon, cutting beets. I always laugh when I'm preparing beets--it looks as though a horrific accident is in process, and I stand guilty like some kind of savage. I looked out and watched my elderly neighbor give my kids a ride on his 4-wheeler--up and down his lane they went, I could see them beaming ear to ear. He is the best

hello, self
happy, happy girl
Saturday my feet were reunited with the trail.
With all the recent chaos of packing and moving and unpacking and more never-ending sorting through boxes in our new life......it has been five long weeks since Charly and I had been out, and WOW!
Mud splattering up my back has never felt so good.
There are very few things that come naturally to me. I love to try all

trail running 101
partner in crime
I've been getting lots of questions and emails lately about how to get into trail running.....and it makes me so happy.
I would love to see more of you out there on the trail!
I am by no means an expert at all.....like everything else I do, I learn by trial and error, and I've been doing this less than two years. Here are just a few tips that will hopefully help you get

trail love
To say that trail running has completely changed my life
would be a tad bit dramatic......and 100% true.
Before I hit the trail a year and a half ago, I feel like my running routine was one long boring sleepwalk.
The same thing over and over.
Streets, sidewalks, crosswalks, neighborhoods. Maybe if I was lucky, a sprinkler to run through or a curb to jump up.
yippee.
And then I woke

run run run
I used to hate running. Loathe it. It was the absolute worst part of my day--just the few laps around the gym to warm up before basketball practice was torture.
I went to college and ran a 5k with my roommates. I thought I was going to die.
And then......something changed.
I ran a bit after we got married--up and down the streets of Rexburg, Idaho. It was ok....but I still didn't

The One That Almost Killed Me
this is how it all ended (it did, eventually, end.) just in case you thought I didn't make it.
Here is my (very long) race report for the Wahsatch Steeplechase.
For all you runners I included what I ate and some other mumbo jumbo.
For those that aren't so into running I always provide a short version:
I ran up the steepest mountain. ever. There was puking and curse words flying (

the come back
I woke up this morning, and knew today was the day.
It had been nine months since I was able to do it without stopping.
Fear and doubt had been standing in my way,
too high to climb, too large to go around.
I have mentioned before that my Lyme hit hard last fall.
What it affected most was my ability to run.
It was torture.
Something I once loved so much, became nearly impossible.
My lungs

alter ego
For those who come to The Blog here for pictures and food and cuteness and such, the following post is a race report for the Amasa Back Trail race in Moab, Utah. If running is not your thing (you should try it), or you just don't like reading about races (a favorite subject of mine to read about) then here is short and sweet version:
"Running in Moab is my new favorite thing."

alone, together
one day in march.....after our drive down the coast, the road began to wind, and the sky began to darken. and darken. and darken.the forrest grew thicker, the sky seemed further away. and then, the sky was gone.we pulled in to our campsite, and turned the off the car lights. nothing. no light for our eyes to adjust to. the moon hid behind clouds, the giant trees has swallowed any sight of stars.

The Nevernudes Strike Back
We interrupt this month of thankfulness for breaking news:
The Nevernudes are back from last year with an shiny new race video.(unfamiliar with Nevernudes? You, my friend, need to watch Arrested Development.
This was my fifth relay that I've ran, and it did not disappoint. 12 people. 188 miles of Las Vegas desert. 24 hours.
18th place out of 500 teams.Run.Sleep. Eat. Repeat.24 hours jam packed

over the weekend.....
this is what it looks like when three moms try to act like gangsters......we just look incredibly, painfully, awkward.over the weekend I: -grabbed a few friends-quoted 1,027 Arrested Development lines-wore my favorite cut-offs (yes, to run in)-ran a few hundred miles across the Nevada desert-lived to tell about it.
I will post more details shortly.......there just may be a video in the works (
