GhostBusters Halloween Brownies Recipe

Hola Amigos! This is my last Halloween recipe for the season! and how appropriate to end this season of spook with a sweet note to start our week! The first dessert recipe I posted when I started blogging was one for Christmas Brownies, today to close my 1st year of blogging I'm posting another brownie one.
Ghost Busters Halloween Brownies Recipe, Who are you going to call when it comes time to share these delicious and gooey brownie balls? Your friends and family are going to love them and would be "singing" for more! #halloween #halloweentrets #brownies

This particular brownies were supposed to be a dirt cake, but I changed my mind at the last minute and made something a little more practical for the kids and hubs to take to work, so they are little bonbon  like brownies dusted in sugar, to give them that ghostly appearance! BOO!

You will get at least 2 dozen of these tasty ghost busters and they are soft gooey with a hint of saltiness inside! It's hard to have just one.

This is a super easy recipe and in no time  you would be enjoying your own. I like the fact that they are not your usual 'out of the box" brownies! An extra personal touch always makes food taste batter.
Ghost Busters Halloween Brownies Recipe, Named after an all time favorite movie, these old time treats will delight everybody in your family! They will be "calling" for more! #Halloween #halloweentreats #brownies

Monster Mash Halloween Saute Purple Potatoes Recipe

Monster Mash Halloween Saute Purple Potatoes Recipe, you all have heard, sang and danced to the Monster Mash! Now is time to eat it too! All natural, no dyes here made with delicious purple potatoes. Make #halloween fun for your kids and adults with these different and tasty dish! #Halloweenfood #halloween #halloweenpartyfood
Hola Amigos! In a season flooded by all shades of orange and black in preparation for Halloween, you have no idea how happy I was when I discovered these little purple guys! Not only I love potatoes but they were purple, my favorite color!

I've never seeing them before, never heard of them either! Ran into them by accident, looking for their elusive cousins the fingerling potatoes. After I read the back of the bag trying to figure out how they would  taste, brought them home with me. Oh happy happy moment.

I was afraid the color was going to wash out after I cooked them for the time the bag recommended, it didn't! How wonderful! . After I peeled them, the color was still there! Amazing!
How to cook them? well that was the question right? Since it was my first time I went with an old and simple recipe my mom used to make with a few ingredients but so delicious! Sauteing them in butter, lemon and garlic. that simple.

They are very tasty and have a couple of good things on their favor too. They cook fast, they have better texture than some potatoes that tend to get gluey and starchy and they have an amazing color that only intensifies with what you add to them  in the cooking process.

They have a hint of sweetness compared to the regular potato, but just a hint, nothing like the orange sweet potato.
I was happy and thought my guys were going to be as excited and happy as I was...well, surprise surprise, they were not. <----insert sad face here!

The couldn't get pass the color! What? I said!!!But the taste just like your regular potato!!!, They are not bad!!! Try them!!! They did, they ate, but let's say there was enough left over for at least 2 more dinner nights, I guess I would be having Purple Monster Mash as a side for the next couple of nights, lol.
I had to keep it real for you guys in case you have picky eaters, young and old!!! (hubs if you read this, that was for you!)
Monster Mash Halloween Saute Purple Potatoes Recipe, Mother nature likes halloween too! No artificial coloring when preparing this Monster Mash, just natural colors that would make you the most popular mom and party hostess in the neighborhood! #halloween #halloweenfood #halloweenpartyfood

So don't mind my guys and trust me, they are fun, tasty and the perfect color to sing and do a true Monster Mash! lol, Thank you for your visit today! Lets all sing  keeping  in mind that everything tastes better with a Pinch of Love!
Monster Mash Halloween Saute Purple Potatoes Recipe, Be unique and the most popular party host when you serve your friends a side of these all natural Monster Mash! No dyes or coloring, just mother nature goodness! #halloween #halloweenfood #halloweenpartyfood

Monster Mash Halloween Saute Potatoes Recipe
Ingredients:
1 (2 lb) bag of Purple Potatoes
1 Small Purple Onion finely chopped
1 Clove Garlic Minced
2 TBSP Lemon Juice
2 TBSP Butter
1 TBSP Olive Oil
1 Bunch Green Onions
Salt
Lemon Pepper
Directions:
In a large pot boil enough water to cover your potatoes and add plenty of salt.Wash potatoes thoroughly. Add your purple potatoes and cook for about 15-20 minutes. Once they are done cooking,  drain and peel them while they are still warm. Cut them in half or quarters if you have some that would allow you to do this. Place on a bowl.
In a small saucepan on medium heat add olive oil and butter. Once the butter is melted add onions, garlic, most of the green onions but not all of them (saving a handful for garnish), Saute until onion is transparent minding never to burn the garlic. Toss the potatoes into this sauce mixing them gently not to destroy them all. Add the lemon juice, salt and lemon pepper to taste,  toss a little more. Remove from heat, place on your serving bowl and garnish with the rest of the green onions. Serve and Enjoy!

Prep time: 10 minutes                              Cook time: 20 minutes                 Serves 4

Spiked Black Mamba Halloween Cocktail Recipe

Spiked Black Mamba Halloween Cocktail Recipe, a cocktail with a bite! Malibu, Cacao and Coffee, this combination will keep you warm in the inside on a cold Halloween night. Slither you way into trouble #Halloween #Halloweencocktail #Halloweencreepyfoods #cocktails
Hola Amigos! Some people don't get scared with skulls, bones, witches, zombies or scary stories told at midnight with only the flickering glow of a candle. The stuff that gives them nightmares and keeps them up at night are all around us any given day. I'm talking spiders, bugs of all kinds and snakes!
Spiked Black Mamba Halloween Cocktail Recipe, the deadliest and fastest snake in the world becomes a sweet cocktail in this intriguing combination of flavors! Perfect for #Halloween night to take a bite out of the cold! Poison has never been so sweet! #Halloweencocktail #halloweenfood #snakes #cocktail

This post is dedicated to all those with Ophidiophobia or abnormal fear of snakes and it came about because for the last couple of days I've been obsessed with creating a black cocktail for Halloween. How the two relate? just keep reading...if you dare...lol

Black Mambas are Africa's deadliest snakes, if bitten, without the proper antivenom the consequences are mostly lethal.
Spiked Black Mamba Halloween Cocktail Recipe, if you are terrified of snakes, this one you will love! A Sweet combination of Malibu, Coffee and Cacao...Poison has never been so sweet! #Halloween #halloweenpartydrinks #halloweenfood #cocktails #snakes

They are also the longest African snakes, up to 14 feet, yikes! Although having the reputation of being aggressive and hostile, it is actually shy and rather avoid confrontation. But with an increasing population and threats to their natural habitat, they find themselves in human territory and attacks happen. These are preceded by the snake's head and body raising, hissing and then fast and repeated bites injecting large amount of venom each time.

They are also the fastest in the world! developing speeds up to 12.5 miles per hour, imagine that thing chasing you..wow!
Finally contrary to popular believe, they get their name not from the color of their skin, which is usually olive brown or gray, but from the color inside their mouths, a blueish black, which they display when threatened.

My cocktail here is all that..well I'm not sure about being lethal, but it has a bite for sure! It's served in a long fluted glass, to show the beautiful plays of color in the body of our Mamba. It's prepared in no time and at the very top of the flute you can see the "black mouth" ready to strike it's sweet fangs on you!

As for the taste, well it has a bite as I said before, after all there is alcohol in it, it tastes like a dark chocolate spiked almond joy candy bar.

Thank you so much for coming to visit me today! I hope I didn't scare you too much with my snake tale! Sweet dreams and don't let the bed bugs (or reptiles) bite, buahahahaha!

Besitos,
Lizy

Zombie Skin Halloween Muddy Buddies Recipe

Zombie Skin Halloween Muddy Buddies Recipe, Eyes, feet, hands, fingers and radioactive green zombie flesh are the main ingredients of this Halloween batch of Muddy Buddies! It's about time we are the ones taking a bite out of the zombies! #HalloweenRecipe #MuddyBuddies #Zombies #Halloweencreepyfood

Hola Amigos! Let me start this post by saying I Hate Zombies! I know they are not real, I know they are popular. but still, hate them with passion, why? because when I was young, many moons ago, the first movie I went to see without my mom or dad (I insisted I was a big girl and I could handle it) was a Zombie Movie!

I was scared out of my seat literally, asked for the phone at the theater reception desk and call my dad for him to pick me up! I didn't want to stay with the rest of the brave kids I went with...I just wanted to go home. And from that point on...I've never Ever seeing a zombie film! Ever...

When the hubs is watching The Walking Dead, I just walk by with hands in my ears, grab what I need and leave the room!
They are the only darn things...other than roaches that would keep me awake all night and make me feel like I was 12 years all all over again!

Needless to say, this particular snack will be the first and last Zombie related of my career as a blogger or heck..Homemaker! I just bought this bag of candy to give out to kids for Halloween and figured..well...why not! Also I wanted to use this delicious Chocolate Strawberry Spread I found at World Market a few days ago.
Zombie Skin Halloween Muddy Buddies Recipe Zombies are creeping in your kitchen and your party this season and you get to eat their flesh in this radioactive looking Muddy Buddy recipe. Who says you can't chase zombies and eat them too? #MuddyBuddiesRecipe #Zombies #HalloweenZombieFood #HalloweenRecipes

I've asked my followers on FB yesterday about the color of zombie skin! The majority said it was Ash in color..and believe me I tried to please them with that color but boy! it was tough!
The next best thing was to give my zombie flesh a little bit of radioactive signs of decomposition and that's why it ended up being greenish-black! What do you think.
Zombie Skin Halloween Muddy Buddies Recipe, The zombie invasion has begun and it's in your party this halloween with this delicious crowd pleasing all time treat! Muddy buddies resembling radioactive zombie flesh! #Halloweenfood #zombie #Halloweentreats #MuddyBuddiesRecipe

Honestly I won't stand close enough to a zombie to see what color his/her/it skin is...it might as well be pink for all I care..I would be running like a maniac away as fast as I can!

There you go my friends, that's my zombie story of the season! These are very tasty despite the appearance. I hope you get to enjoy them with No Living Dead Around!, lol Have a beautiful day and remember everything tastes better with a Pinch of Love! (well...I'm not quite sure about real zombie skin, but at least this one is)

Besitos,
Lizy

Zombie Skin Halloween Muddy Buddies Recipe
Ingredients:
3 Cups Special K Vanilla Almond Ceral (looks like skin flakes to me)
3/4 Chocolate Strawberry Spread (Nutella would do just fine)
2 TBSP Honey Margarine (butter is ok too)
2 TBSP Strawberry Jelly (optional )
1/4 Cup Salted Peanuts
1 1/2 Cups Powder Sugar
1 Bag Gummy Zombie Body Parts
1 Large Zip Lock Bag
Black, Green and Red food colorant (optional)
Directions:
In a big mixing bowl, place your cereal. Set aside.
In a microwave proof container melt your spread of choice, margarine and jelly, in intervals of 30-45 seconds. Once this mix is melted, add a drop or two of your black food coloring. Mix well. Pour this mix on your cereal bowl. Mix gently not to break the flakes.
Filled up your zip lock bag with the powdered sugar. Add the coated cereal flakes and shake. I added mine in two batches to get a better coverage.
On a separate small bowl, add your salted peanuts and pour a couple drops of green food colorant on them.
Coat them well and add this mix to your sugar coated cereal flakes and shake again. The colorant will come off of the peanuts but it will spot the sugar coated flakes to give it the zombie radiated skin effect.
At the end you will be able to see a mix of black and green...to serve and make it even creepier...you could add some drops of red food colorant to suggest blood...yucks!
Before serving, add the gummy zombie body parts. Serve, Devour and Enjoy!

Prep Time 5 minutes                                                                                       Serves 3 Cups

Lizard Tongues Halloween Stuffed Sweet Peppers, If you love peppers you will love this recipe. These sweet little "Tongues" could be stuffed with just veggies or some buffalo chicken too but they all get a mandatory dip on Snail Slime Dipping Sauce!
Hola Amigos! Happy October! Are you ready to get your Spook On? I'm so excited! I love this time of the year and most of all Halloween!
Today I'm serving some Lizard Tongues I stuffed with some wild mushrooms, garlic bread crumbs and Baby Swiss cheese among other ingredients, and I'm dipping them in some delicious Snail Slime dipping sauce! oh yummm!

You can make these guys just  vegetarian or like I always do make a batch with meat for the carnivores in your family.

I have to admit these peppers are a little tricky to stuff than their bigger bell pepper cousins, but it was all worth it! I ate the entire first batch by myself with the "I'm just trying them for flavor" excuse! I just love the Snail Slime!

On to the recipe friends! Thank You so much for visiting the blog. I hope this first day of October greets you in Good Health, Happiness and Love! which reminds me, even Lizard Tongues taste better with a Pinch of Love!

Besitos,
Lizy

1 Bag  Mini Sweet Peppers (16 oz)
1/2 Cup Garlic Bread Crumbs ( I processes some Croutons)
6 oz Wild Mushrooms Mix (or Portobella)
1/8 Cup Baby Swiss cheese (shredded)
1 Tsp each onion powder, garlic powder, seasoned salt, lemon pepper
For carnivores:
1/4 Cup Buffalo Chicken Breast from the Deli, processed in a food processor or blender.
Snail Slime:
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
3 TBSP Salsa Verde and 1 extra to put on top.

Wash your peppers thoroughly and dry. Cut the tops and very carefully scoop the seeds. Set aside.
In a heavy saucepan heat up 3 cups of water until it boils. Once in boils put your peppers in  for a couple of minutes, about 4-5. Remove from heat and hot water and put them in a separate container full of ice water. This will stop the cooking process.
Heat up your oven at 325.
When your peppers are cool to the touch, stuff each one very carefully with your mix.
One they are all stuffed, lay them flat on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the stuffing on top gets golden brown.
Once they are done. Remove from the oven and serve with the Snail Slime Sauce. Enjoy!

Prep Time: 5 minutes                           Baking time 12-15 minutes                        Serves 24

Widower Maker Halloween Green Smoothie Recipe

Widower Maker Halloween Green Smoothie, a refreshing and energizer drink with a beautiful green color for halloween!
Hola Amigos! Boy do I have a story to tell you! and it all has to do with this particular smoothie! It started on Sept.27 the day of my Wedding Anniversary. The hubs and I had planned a rare and I mean RARE date night. We were going to have a romantic evening at a Haunted Forrest near by and then grab a bite to eat at our favorite restaurant. Since I love the food there, I wanted to have the works, from appetizers to dessert, so there was no point on having a big lunch if I was going to indulge later.

I decided to make a green smoothie. I checked in my fridge for the usual green suspects, apple, grapes, melon, a starfruit and one that I bought to make something different but...hmmm...why not use it for the smoothie... a Kiwi!
Everything was going smooth as usual, at the end I decided to trade the apple for the starfruit, since they are similar in consistency and taste! Love them! Have you had them?

Time for the flavor taste and photos and that's when everything started to go down!
Flavor excellent, consistency great, appearance awesome...but why was I  feeling like It was hard to catch my breath? Ignore it, it's nothing, take pictures before light goes away. Throat itches, it's  nothing, snap more pics. Lips tingling....darn it! I can't seem to be able  focus and take a decent picture and I'm having a hard time breathing for real now!

Called hubs and he thought it could be an allergic reaction...but to what? "Use the pen in the cabinet and call me if you still feeling sick or call an ambulance" he said.
To make a long story short...it took me about 5 hours to have all the symptoms go away. It was an allergic reaction. and I just had not not even a 1/4 cup of the smoothie since I needed more for pics. But why? and to what? I've never had food allergies, I'm only highly allergic to Latex.
Widower Maker Halloween Green Smoothie Recioe, Energizing and Exotic! This is an awesome smoothie for Halloween! Green is the color of the season...a healthy season!

I decided to go online a do a little research and there I found it...Latex Fruit Syndrome!!! OMG!!! According to the American Latex Allergy Association " The association between latex sensitivity and food allergies is often referred as Latex Fruit Syndrome" .Some plants contain natural rubber latex to protect them from fungi and other micro organisms. The site gives a list ranking on these fruits and vegetables from High to Low/Undetermined. And guess what was among High : Kiwi!!!!

To torture myself even more I checked the symptoms of Latex Anaphylaxis that I already knew due to my condition., and they were all there: Itchy throat, tightness of throat, difficulty breathing, swelling and dizziness among others.
Yup my friends...and that was only with  3 sips...so don't you think the perfect name to this smoothie is Widower Maker? LOL...I was close...never thought for a minute something healthy could have the potential to kill me.

Other than that...it is good! Just don't add kiwi if you are allergic to Latex like me. My Latex allergy is as bad as people with peanuts allergy. The few times that I've been hospitalized there is a big sign at my door reading "Latex Allergy" just to give you an idea how close this smoothie was to really be a Dead End for me and making my Hubs a widower on the day of our Anniversary!
Widower Maker Halloween Green Smoothie Recipe, tantalizing color and refreshing and energizing taste!

Thanks for listening to my 'interesting" story and sorry it was such a long post but I thought if there was a person with Latex allergies among my readers they should be aware of the fruit fact too!....It can't get any spookier than that for a Halloween Drink huh?? Hugs and remember that everything tastes better with a Pinch of Love!

Besitos,
Lizy
