Last time I had Black Forest Cake was for one of my birthdays...#30something...it's been a while...I love chocolate cake I'm not so in love with the cherry part..they are just not my fruit! But sometimes you have to make sacrifices...(yeah I'm craying here, NoT!!!) for the good of other people and my guys love them so here it goes...my version of Black Forest cake...the fast way. As usual, no shortcuts in flavor, only cooking time and also eating time...these guys are an on the go treat because they are bars..no fork, or plate, just grab your bar and a napkin and you are all set.
Here are the ingredients.
1 18oz Fudge cake box mix
21oz Cherry pie filling
2 eggs beaten
1TSPS Vanilla extract (You could use Almond too)
1 Cup Sugar
5 TBSP Butter
1/3 Cup Milk
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
Pre Heat oven at 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 baking dish. In a bowl mix by hand the cake mix, pie filling, eggs and vanilla. Pour mix in the baking dish and bake for aprox. 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and once it cools cut in pieces and set aside to finish cooling.
In a small saucepan, add sugar, butter and milk, when heated up at chocolate chips until melted. Remove from hear and pour the sauce mix over the cake squares. What is left of the sauce set aside for a little extra drizzle if necessary.
Listo,
What is not to love about these Black Forest Bars...
The plump and juicy cherries
The gooey chocolate sauce oozing every time you bite into them
The softness of the cake...
I don't know my friends...I think this is now my favorite cake
Would it be yours too?
Thank you for visiting the blog today, hope you have found your source of inspiration to keep working hard all day and then come home to a delicious dessert!
And always keep in mind, everything tastes better with a Pinch Of Love!
Besitos,
Lizy
