the weekly juice (doubled!)
Thanksgiving is in ONE week!!
Who's ready?!
Starting next week I kind of eat and eat and eat for the whole month of December.....what about you?
And if you are at all like me, I'm sure you're also eating quite a bit more sugar than normal too.....am I right?
So I am making sure to get all kinds of extra good stuff in whenever I can.
I am trying to juice daily right now--here are two new

the weekly juice
Right now:
the chickens are out wandering the yard pecking for bugs and whatnot
the cat and dog are snuggled up together on the porch (it's the weirdest/funniest/seriously cutest thing)
the air is cool and blue and it feels so dark for afternoon
snow is coming this weekend.....we are ready. let's do this, winter.
all the laundry is folded. this is a miracle! too bad my kids will drop most

the weekly juice
I dusted off my juicer! I didn't juice very much this summer--we ate fruit and veggies with almost every meal (and snack) all summer.....and I never really felt the desire to juice.
Have you noticed lately that there is all this
"Juicing VS Blending"
stuff floating around the internet?
People taking sides and battling out which is better.....it gets heated, let me tell you.
What a dumb

the weekly juice
Strawberry season.....it's finally here!
We find ourselves each day with sticky sweet strawberry juice running down our arms and smeared across our cheeks.
I threw some into our morning juice and WOW.
A glass of early summer.
bonus: lately I've been adding in some chia seeds to my glass
(see the benefits of chia HERE)
double bonus: you know I love beets.....this is really good with a big

the weekly juice
I've always loved grapefruit juice.
I think it's one of those things.....you love it, or you hate it.
We've been talking a lot about juice lately....juice gets a bad rap. So many of the juices you buy at the store are full of things that aren't......well......juice.
Take this for example. Here are the ingredients off a bottle of store bought grapefruit juice:
Filtered Water, Grapefruit

the weekly juice
My juicer is back in action!
I love pouring the kids a glass as we start school in the morning.
It's been icy and cold, with snow over the weekend--so not exactly feeling like spring quite yet.
But this green juice tastes like spring to me--lots of bright "green" flavor, a great way to start out the day.
My boy loves it (I have yet to find a juice he doesn't like), my girl wrinkles up her

the weekly juice
Still juicing like a maniac over here--it has officially become part of our after school routine....
get home
throw stuff on floor
yell at tell them nicely to take stuff to their rooms
juice and snack
homework
yell at tell them ever so sweetly to stop goofing around and just get their homework done.....(this part goes on forever)
all while drinking our juice.
This juice has quickly

the weekly juice
Everyone needs to stop being sick! I feel like we are surrounded. I guess Utah is having record numbers of people with the flu this season, and I don't want our family to be a number. We don't do flu shots, so we are keeping the sickness away with extra juice, tons of veggies, and lots of exercise and fresh air. (knock on wood).
This is my kids' very favorite juice right now. They drink it

the weekly juice
My mom surprised me with a juicer for Christmas!
Yay for my mom!
I was so happy when I opened it, and we have been juicing ever since.
No fruit or veggie is safe.
The first day I opened it up I went through my fridge to see who my first victims would be.
I had apples, fresh mandarins from our trip to California, carrots and beets.
In they went.
We decided to call this one "sweet
